2006 New Years Eve
Ok. It's been a while. It's been a great year full of
exciting things in the Hofstetters lives. We had a few
more camping
trips this Summer with the Colemans. Both in Maine
Hermit Island is the coolest camp ground we've been
to. We dug for clams and cooked them up at camp and
ate lobsters bought at the camp store. Not bad. Jonas
and Shea went to Horse
Camp at Stony Pines Stables this summer. Nice. John
went to San Diego again to pow
wow with Louis XIV about the new album (can't tell
you when it's coming out because I don't know. In October
we went to Mexico
with Mom and Dad to help build a house for Youth
With A Mission. The house was built for a family in
the hills above Ensenada. A humbling experience for
everyone. Jonas
is still playing hockey and doing well. He went
to a week long sleep over camp this summer in Vermont.
Lots of time on the ice and tears when he finally got
to see Mom and Dad at the end of the week. He had fun
though. Here's a few misc.
images from the year.
March 6 :: Uk and Paris
Just got in last night from our whirlwind trip to the
UK and Paris. We spent a few days with our friends in
Louis XIV. We saw them in Oxford, London and Paris.
What a trip. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised at
how friendly everyone in the UK was. People went out
of thier way to make us feel welcome. Even though it
wasn't much of a weather vacation, It was a great time
nonetheless. We managed to fit in most of the London
and Paris highlights. I've attached a million photos.
Here
goes.
December 20 :: Christmas Time
Last weekend was what appears to be the first annual
Hofstetter Christmas Party. Fun had by all. You know
you've done something right when your parents and dancing
in the kitchen with your friends. Good times. Check
it out. Here's some photos of the boys
playing soccer this summer. I've been a little behind
on updates. I've also written a
little story about Louis XIV. Pretty Cool.
JULY 31 :: Chicago
We just got back from a sun and suds filled week in
the outskirts of Chicago on vacation to visit Jaimee's
Dad. We all
had a blast out on the lake and fishing, tubbing, and
just relaxing. Thanks Dad.
JULY 6 :: 4th of July 2005
So the 4th has come and gone and yet again we are tired.
It was another fantastic party. The Hofstetter Hoedown
was filled will water
baloons, bouncy rooms, chile, ponies, fireworks, swimming,
friends and camping. Thanks everyone for helping
us with such a wonderful day.
JUNE 21:: Summer is here
We're busy getting ready for the big 4th of July party
this year. There's a new fire pit in the yard built
by Gary and myself. I've included a photo of the inaugural
smores family campfire. Mickey's team just concluded
the regular season with a win in the finals. It was
quite the game. Now it's off to Allstars and then Summer
League. Wow! Here's
the photos.
MAY 17 :: Whirlind Trip to San
Diego The Family took a trip
to San Diego to witness my high school friend Nina marry.
We fit as much "San Diego living" as we could
in the 4 1/2 days we were there. This included probably
20 meals of Mexican food, a trip to Tijuana, and some
more Mexican food. You get the idea. Here's
some photos.
JUNE 5 :: Louis XIV in Central Park Jaimee and I and our best friends Gary and Samantha tagged along with Louis XIV for their Central Park show with the Killers. We got to hang out with our old pals Keanu and JayZ. It was great. Check it out. A few days later I tagged along for thier Boston show. Very cool. Here's some photos.
JANUARY 24:: Louis XIV photoshoot in LA I'm working on the new Louis XIV CD art and traveled to LA for a few days. It was a whirlwind Hollywood affair and I tried my best to not let on how much I didn't belong. It was great. There was a gentleman at the airport with a sign reading "Limosine for Hofstetter." I wonder how many times that will happen in my life. I'm easy to please.
JANUARY 03:: Holiday in Sweden The day after Christmas we left for Sweden. Actually it was the day after the day after, but I don't want to talk about it. We had a great trip. The whole family was there and we ate, drank, and celebrated. It was the first time out of the country for Jonas. Both boys are now seasoned travelers.
NOVEMBER 2 :: Red Sox Victory Parade in Boston I promised the boys after game 4 against the Yankees that if we won the series we'd go to Boston for the parade. I really didn't think we'd need to make the trip. Well, the Red Sox won and I kept my promise. We went down Friday night and camped out on the office floor. The parade ran right by the office. It was a great day. I know it meant a lot more to long-time Sox fans, but it was great to witness such a historic event in Boston sports history. Good times.
OCTOBER 11 :: A Bike Ride on a Beautiful Fall Day The boys and I went on a bike ride to Grandpa's house today and I took some photos along the way. The trees are changing colors and it is a wonderful thing to see.
SEPTEMBER 25 :: Mickey had a great soccer game today Mickey was able to score two goals today and played a fantastic game. It was fun to watch.
SEPTEMBER 22/04 :: It's been a while Ok. So a whole bunch has gone on since February. I don't even know where to start. Let's see... Went to Las Vegas this Summer for Jaimee's brother Jimmy. He got married in Ceasars Palace. It was a great day and a wonderful weekend for our family in Sin City. The boys decided that Vegas would be the first stop on the "I'm 21 now" tour.
Jaimee and I decided to finally celebrate a honeymoon and spent a week in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Wow! Great food and one giant non-stop party. We had a great time.
We, of course, had our 4th of July party. Bigger and better than ever. My Dad, his buddy John, and Larry Leisure put on the most spetacular fireworks display ever seen in East Washington. My brother Chris and his family visited for the month of July. It was a wonderful month of eating and drinking and camping and hanging out. There's some photos here of his lovely wife and daughters (Linda, Tilly, and Elsa).
My Dad was busy this summer working torward the greatest Dad/Grandpa in the world award. Whole bunches of new projects. He rebuilt our "eye sore" of a deck out back and along with Peter helped me fix up the "eye sore" of a walkway to the front door. Overall, I develeped a bit of a green thumb this summer. Don't get me wrong. No one is calling me for gardening advice, but I'm getting better.
Mickey and Jonas had breakthrough years in baseball. Mickey did a great job pitching and was named the MVP off the local All Star Team. I had the wonderful expience of being an assistant coach. A whole bunch of fun.
We rediscovered the joy of camping and had two wonderful trips. We had one trip up into the quiet of the White Mountains and another to Laconia.
We got to our first Red Sox game at Fenway. It was perfect. We had an incredible night. The Red Sox won and the boys discovered the glory of "Sweet Caroline" in unison with thousands of other Red Sox fans.
I've included a gallery of images of Scooby and Henniker.
